Product description
Made in Italy from premium Columbus steel tubing, the Eddy Merckx Corsa Strasbourg combines the timeless ride of steel with a clean, modern design and fully integrated cabling. It's built for riders looking for a versatile bike with authentic character — ready for anything from fast gravel trails to rugged adventures beyond civilization.
Columbus Steel
A combination of Columbus Zona and SL tubes is used for the Corsa wheels.
The SL in Columbus stands for "Super Leggera". This is Columbus' most famous tube set, designed for maximum performance. It is a cold-formed , double-butted seamless tube that excels in extreme fatigue resistance.
Columbus Zona tubes are very strong and durable: they offer excellent stability, reliability and high fatigue resistance, while the weight of this type of tube remains relatively low. This steel consists of a seamless 25CroMo4 alloy with a triple/double butted wall.
This combination creates a fast, agile and comfortable bike that perfectly reflects the typical properties of steel frames: flexibility, robustness and durability.
Handmade in Italy
Since the founding of Eddy Merckx Bikes in 1980, the "Corsa" name has been a hallmark of quality for premium steel bikes.
Until recently, Johan Vranckx, who had been building frames for the Eddy Merckx brand since he was 16, welded steel frames. He learned his trade in Italy at the iconic De Rosa brand.
Now that Johan has retired, we've gone back to our roots: Corsa frames are now handmade in Italy.
Gravel frame
The Strasbourg's geometry is designed to handle even the most demanding gravel trails. The low center of gravity gives the bike an exceptionally smooth and controlled ride, giving the rider confidence even in rough terrain.
The Corsa Strasbourg can accommodate tires up to 48 mm wide.
Universal derailleur hanger (UDH)
Every Eddy Merckx Corsa bike is equipped with the UDH ( Universal Derailleur Hanger ). The UDH is a standardized solution for attaching the derailleur to the frame.
The UDH bracket makes it easy to replace derailleurs, regardless of brand, and ensures more precise and consistent shifting.
Integrated cabling
The Corsa Strasbourg model is constantly evolving. The latest generation features fully integrated cable and hose routing through the handlebars and headset.
The result is an even cleaner silhouette that perfectly complements the elegant lines of the steel frame. Modern integration meets timeless craftsmanship without compromising the authentic character of the Corsa Strasbourg.
